Use Secure Data Wipe Software For Samsung
Secure data wipe systems for data storage purposes on any type of device is not designed with an SSD in mind. Even if you erase the entire contents of the hard drive, any data blocks that are written to the industry after overwriting the hard drive will (and often will not) still be in the overprovisioning region, leaving behind traces of leftover data available for a data recovery specialist to recover.
That's where Samsung's Data Recovery software comes in. In this software, you can create a custom file system for your SSD, one that is very different from what most computer users have been using in the past. This file system will protect and erase the hard drive, creating a "data hole" data cowering" zone around all of the critical data that is stored there.
What the Data Rescue software will do is actually send your data to a Data Cowering Zone (DZ), which is built into the software itself. When data is in this area, the information is protected by a password, and it cannot be retrieved by unscrupulous computer users. The process of writing your data to a new file system is straightforward, and this article will tell you how to use it.
To access your data in the DZ, you need to first make sure you've created a folder for your data and are running the software as administrator. You'll also need to set the DZ folder to be the default data location. Click on "start", select "run" and type in "gpt disk /d" followed by "dd" and then "h". Once the program is complete, you should see the drive in question in your computer's graphical desktop before clicking OK.
Once you do, you'll have to choose a time when your SD is powered off and not being accessed by anyone else. If it's turned on, you can do "data wipe" at this point, if not you'll need to delete the current data in your drive first. Now it's time to create your new file system on your SD, and you're done. Just click "go" on the icon for your new file system, and it will be copied onto your hard drive without you ever having to go anywhere else.
Using an SD Secure Data Wipe software can be done without too many problems. Still, when using one for a Samsung, you have to be careful because the process is not exactly the same as the regular software. It's recommended that you read some of my other articles to get a better understanding of this process.
